Constructed in 1845, for over a century, La Nef served as a prison in Fontainebleau. Later, from 1995 until 2010, the building housed the National Prison Museum, which showcased the history of French prisons and attracted many visitors. Today, La Nef is completely transformed into 22 completely refurbished, self-contained apartments, along with gardens, parking and spacious communal areas. Its heritage is preserved, while the interiors are reimagined for comfort, style, and modern amenities.

Each unit in La Nef has a fitted kitchen, separate sleeping area, and private shower room, providing a practical and comfortable living experience. Furniture and accessories are available to hire from a specialist, independant furniture company for an additional fee. So you can create a bespoke move-in experience that ensures your stay is both comfortable and stress-free!

Ideally located in the city centre, La Nef is close to all amenities and renowned institutions, including INSEAD, the Ecole des Mines, and the International School of Political Studies (UPEC). Fontainebleau’s mainline station is just a short walk away, providing endless opportunities for exploring France and the rest of Europe.

All accommodation is available on long-term leases, and allow you to choose your preferred start and end dates. Since each unit has a unique layout, the monthly rent is based on furnishing preferences.
